Terms & Conditions
Alpenhaus Cottage is offered to the Client for holiday rental, subject to confirmation by the Owners, Mr & Mrs Curtis.
Reservations & Payment
Reservations will be accepted by telephone, email or post. A deposit (10% of the total rent due) is required to secure the reservation. The deposit should arrive within 7 days of the initial reservation. If the deposit is not received within this time the dates will be re-classed as unreserved and made available again.
The remaining balance of the rental charge should be received by the Owners at least 6 weeks before the start of the reservation. If payment is not made at least 6 weeks before your stay the Owners have the right to cancel the reservation. In such event the Client remains liable to pay the remaining balance in full.
Reservations made within 6 weeks of the start date will require full payment at the time of booking.
Payment can be made by G.B. Bank cheque/transfer in pounds sterling, or by a French Bank cheque/transfer in Euros. Cheques from any other country require an additional 15 Euros to cover bank charges.
Cheques should be made payable to P Curtis.
On making a reservation or sending a payment the Client is indicating that they have accepted these terms and conditions.
Cancellations
Any cancellation must be made in writing.
If a cancellation is made more than 6 weeks before the start date of the booking a full refund will be issued.
If a cancellation is made within 6 to 4 weeks before the start of the booking 50% of the total rental will be refunded.
If a cancellation is made within 4 to 2 weeks before the start of the booking 25% of the total rental will be refunded.
There is no refund for a cancellation made within 2 weeks of the booking start date.
It may be possible to change booking dates and carry forward any deposits paid, but in such a case the request should be made to the Owner.
Insurance
The use of the accommodation, grounds and all equipment is entirely at the Clients own risk. The Owners accept no responsibility for any injury; loss or damage to the Clients belongings or vehicles.
Comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellations, loss, damage, vehicle breakdown and public liability is recommended, and is the responsibility of the
Client. A European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is available in the U.K. from the Post Office or
on-line.
Rental Periods
The rental period starts from 3pm on the first day and finishes by 10am on the last day, unless by prior arrangement.
Consideration
The Client agrees to be a considerate tenant and ensure that all members of their party take good care of the cottage. All furniture, fittings and effects should be in the same state of repair and condition as at the start of the rental. The Client should also leave the cottage and it’s contents in the same clean and tidy condition as at the start of the rental. The Owners will be entitled to make additional charge/charges if this agreement is broken.
Alternatively a departure cleaning service is available for an additional £25 fee.
Smoking in the property is forbidden.
Accommodation
The maximum number of persons using the Property must not exceed those stated at time of booking unless the Owners have given written permission to the contrary.
Pets are not allowed on the property.
Utilities
Gas, electricity and water are included in the rental charge for the cottage. However, during the months from October to April inclusive, there is a supplement of £25 to cover extra use of electric heaters.
Linen
Quality bedlinen, duvets, pillows and tea towels are provided (please note that beach towels are not provided). A set of clean bedlinen and towels will be provided for each week of rental.
Breakages, Breakdowns or Defects
The Client should report to the Owners immediately, any loss, damage, breakages or defects within the cottage and outside areas. Also of any breakdown of equipment, machinery or appliances within the cottage or outside areas. Arrangements for the repair and/or replacement will be made as soon as possible.
The Owners shall not be liable to the Client:
a) Any temporary defect or stoppage in the supply of any public services to the cottage, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliance in the property or garden.
b) Any loss, damage or injury which is the result of adverse weather conditions, flood, riot, war, strikes or other matters beyond the Owners control.
c) Any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the Client, if the Property shall be destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of the rental period and in any such event the Owners shall, within 14 days of notification to the Client, refund to the Client all sums previously paid in respect of the hire period.
d) Under no circumstances shall the Owners’ liability to the Client exceed the amount paid to the Owners for the rental period.
